Located in the private Gay Men's Yoga studio in Collingwood, Melbourne. Full address and arrival details are provided once your booking has been confirmed.
When
Sunday Stretch & Yoga Workshops are held from 1.30 pm to 4.00 pm.
There are five workshops each year, with a maximum of eight participants.
Advance bookings are essential.
Who Can Attend
Whether you've never tried yoga before or have years of experience, these Sunday Stretch & Yoga Workshops are suitable for everyone.
You don't need to be flexible to attend—the workshop is designed to help you become more flexible. If your goal is to move more freely, enjoy deeper stretching or simply experience yoga in a different way, you'll feel right at home. Beginners are always welcome.
Why Attend?
Most of us don't realise just how tight our bodies have become. Over time the body slowly adapts to the stiffness until it simply feels normal, but it doesn't have to be that way.
Working with rotating partners gives you the opportunity to completely relax while someone else gently assists your stretches in ways that are almost impossible to achieve on your own. It's surprising how much further the body can open when you stop trying to do all the work yourself.
Unlike a regular yoga class, a workshop gives you the time to slow down, ask questions and explore yoga without feeling rushed.
With more time available, you'll begin to notice where your body holds tension, discover new ways of working with it and experience what your body is capable of when given the opportunity to let go.
Workshops are conducted in underwear or nude, with nudity being completely optional. Everyone is welcome, whatever your level of comfort.
What To Expect
Each Sunday Stretch & Yoga Workshop explores a different theme and includes partner-assisted stretching, group exercises and practical techniques to improve flexibility and mobility.
There is plenty of time to ask questions, learn new techniques and better understand both your body and the yoga postures.
The afternoon finishes with a guided deep relaxation and a gentle body cleanse through the power of touch, leaving you feeling lighter, more open and deeply relaxed.
