Explore GMY

Gay Men’s Yoga is a private studio located in Collingwood, in inner-city Melbourne, Australia.

The focus of GMY is one-on-one private sessions, including yoga, yoga massage, stretch therapy, meditation, and progressive relaxation. We also offer guidance and support for men across physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual wellbeing—for those who wish to explore more deeply.

GMY also offers small group classes for those who enjoy practising with like-minded people. These sessions are relaxed, supportive, and intentionally intimate, with a maximum of eight participants.

Since 2001, Gay Men’s Yoga has provided a dedicated space for men of all identities to practise yoga in a light-hearted, welcoming environment. The studio is inclusive and open to people from all walks of life.

GMY supports you to relax, stay fit, reconnect with your purpose, and enjoy life more fully. Through a combination of breathing techniques, relaxation, meditation, and conscious movement, yoga helps cultivate a healthy body and a calmer, more balanced state of mind.

Yoga offers a powerful way to reconnect with your body and mind, and to better understand your emotions and overall health. With regular practice, you may experience improved flexibility, enhanced wellbeing, and a greater sense of balance—physically, emotionally, and mentally.

The primary style practised at GMY is Raja Yoga, a traditional and therapeutic form of yoga known for its restorative and holistic benefits. This approach works deeply across the body, mind, and emotional state, supporting overall wellbeing.

In sessions, we explore postures designed to gently stimulate and support the body’s internal systems. This practice encourages the release of tension and promotes a sense of renewal and vitality.

With consistent practice of Raja Yoga—often referred to as the “royal path” of yoga—you can develop greater self-awareness, reduce stress, and feel more grounded and confident in your life. Over time, this can lead to a deeper sense of clarity, purpose, and personal empowerment.
